Dr. Burkett and Dr. Melton
Robert H. Melton, DDS. MAGD, MBA
Experienced
Dr. Melton graduated with honors from the University of Missoui, Kansas City
with a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He opened his first dental practice in
Drumright in 1972. In 1976 he sold his practice and entered the University of
Nebraska Medical Center for two years of specialty training in pediatric
dentistry. For 13 years Dr. Melton practiced in Springfield, MO exclusively as a
pediatric dentist.
Dr. Melton holds a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), a
distinction only attained by approximately 1 percent of dentists in the nation.
He has served on the national board of trustees of the American Society of
Dentistry for Children. He currently serves as President-elect of the Oklahoma
Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Melton recently completed a Masters Degree in
Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Melton has actively
practiced dentistry for 37 years.
At the new “state of the art” Cimarron Surgical Care Center, Co-owner Dr. Melton
performs dental care for young children and special needs adults under general
anesthetic. Licensed for Pediatric Conscious Sedation, Dr. Melton, along with
surgery staff, provide this service for patients referred from a multi-county
region.
Local
A native Oklahoman, Dr. Melton was born and raised in Okemah. He graduated from
Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors Degree in Pre-Medical Science. Dr.
Melton returned to Drumright in 1991 opening the general dentistry practice,
Drumright Dental Center. Dr. Melton has encouraged and facilitated the dental
careers of many local Drumright students. Dr. Melton is a member of Oak Grove
Baptist Church and a member of the Drumright Lions Club.
Family
Dr. Melton and his wife Kathy enjoy traveling and working together. They
especially enjoy annual mission trips where they provide dentistry services in
third world countries. The Meltons have four grown children.
Travis Burkett, DDS
Dr. Travis Dean Burkett completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. He has received specialized training in the placement of IMTEC mini dental implants for denture retention, and CEREC crowns for same day porcelain crowns. Dr. Burkett is a certified Invisalign provider. Proficient in all aspects of restorative and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Burkett enjoys restoring and preserving beautiful smiles.
Board certified in Pediatric Conscience Sedation, Dr. Burkett is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, Oklahoma Dental Association, and the Tulsa County Dental Association. Dr. Burkett serves on the board for the Oklahoma Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Burkett is pleased to be providing patients with the highest standard of care offered in modern dentistry.
Born in Norman, Oklahoma, Dr. Burkett was raised in Drumright and graduated from Drumright High School and the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics at Central Vo-Tech in 1999. A Chancellor’s Scholar at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Burkett earned a Bachelor of Science Education degree in Kinesiology.
“I am excited about being back in the Drumright area, to serve the people and the community where I was raised” said Dr. Burkett.
Dr. Burkett became a proud father on March 22, 2009 of a new baby boy, Braden Noah Burkett. An active member of the University of Arkansas Alumni Association, Dr. Burkett loves to follow and support the Arkansas Razorbacks. Dr. Burkett enjoys going to the movies, traveling, taking continuing education courses, playing basketball and running.
Erin Sexson, DDS

Erin Sexson, DDS is a graduate from The University of Oklahoma College of
Dentistry. She has gained general dentistry experience in a busy family practice
in Oklahoma City. Dr. Sexson joined the dental team at Drumright Dental Center
July 1, 2008. "I am ready to move closer to my family in Tulsa, I feel fortunate
to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Melton and Dr. Burkett" said Sexson.
Dr. Melton is recognized nationally for his skill and practice in dentistry. Dr.
Sexson has received additional training in the production of CEREC dental
restorations and INVISALIGN for orthodontia.
Dr. Sexson spent most of her childhood in Tulsa. After graduating from Bishop
Kelley High School in Tulsa, she went on to receive her bachelor of arts in
Microbiology at the University of Kansas. While in college, she was involved in
many organizations but has the fondest memories of teaching an undergraduate and
graduate level class through the School of Social Welfare that enabled students
to do community service across the country during their spring breaks.
Leaving jay hawk country behind, Dr. Sexson returned home to earn her dental
degree at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Sexson loves to travel, read, garden,
and spend as much time outdoors as possible.
Dr. Sexson is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General
Dentistry, Oklahoma Association of Women Dentists, and Oklahoma Dental
Association.
